Hi there,
I was recommended to this site by a close friend after we got frustrated with MTS and since I now live across the ocean (Originally from Christchurch, NZ) this is another great way to keep in touch and meet some new people with a shared passion. 🙂I love the Sims, especially TS2. I’ve been playing for years on a very old computer which was very slow and often crashed, recently deleting an entire neighbourhood that I had been developing for almost 2years; but I’ve just got a new computer which is super fast and once I figure out the screen resolution thing I hope to jump back in to enjoying TS2 in all its wonderfulness.
I love to play historical themes and build things, I’m not that good but I hope to make some cool buildings and share them here. Also thanks to Miss A for helping me in my extremely blonde moment with registration.

Hi, welcome to SFU! Sorry you’ve had so many problems with your game, there’s nothing worse when you just want to get on with it. And you’ve lost an entire neighbourhood, how did that happen???
I always play my Sims 2 game in windowed mode…it makes it easier to take screenshots etc. and doesn’t use as many PC resources as full screen mode. Have you downloaded the necessary patches for your OS?

Re: Hellooo
thanks for the tip I will see if i can find the patches, at this point i’ve followed some threads about changing the resolution in the game res files and other similar things but nothing has worked so far, i’m still hoping for a solution. 🙂
my old laptop ran on windows xp and this new one is windows 8, its taking a bit to get used to, so i apologize for my blonde moments.July 30, 2013 at 1:51 pm #4505LadyAngel

Hope you manage okay. I’ve not used TS2 with Windows 8, but my daughter seems to run it okay on that. MTS has all the patches, I think.
