      Mock Tudor to Modernity
So we go from mock Tudor to Modern in 3 easy steps… well it wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be. I like to change things around as I build and decorate, couldn’t do that here 🙂 but, hey, that was the challenge! Hope you like it!
The house enjoys lovely views over the surrounding countryside, large garden with its own pool where you can go for a swim or just lounge around by the side of it on a lovely hot summer day (have to imagine that in the UK as we’re not getting very many of those this year :)), patio area and for the children there is the pool slide or the swing.
To the front of the house there is a sweeping driveway leading to a garage.
The house benefits from 2 large double bedrooms, a study, 11/2 bathrooms and an open plan living/kitchen area.

The house is entered via steps and an elegant porch.

Through the porch and turn left you encounter the comfortable lounge with a reading nook at the far end. The pretty patio and garden are accessed via the glazed door in the reading nook.

If you turn right from the porch you encounter the kitchen dining area and the ground floor cloakroom (this can also be accessed via the reading nook).

At the top of the stairs turn left to enter the ‘Jack and Jill’ bathroom.
      12bathroom.jpg
Opposite the doorway to the bathroom is the study (this could easily be converted into a nursery if needed).
      13study.jpg
Along the hallway and turn right into the master bedroom with a comfortable seating area in the recessed window area where you can relax and read that book you brought to bed with you or watch some TV before snuggling down to sleep – a haven away from the children.
      11masterbedroom.jpg
Opposite the master bedroom is the large second bedroom currently decorated for two little girls but it could easily be redecorated to accomodate boys, teenagers or even as a double guest room.

The end. Hope you like it 🙂

You didn’t go for the obvious room choices which really makes your house interesting. Love, the colors, the curtains, and the general modern feel of the house. I really didn’t do anything with that little front porch, but like what you did. Totally awesome!

Thanks Tric, don’t how well the house would play as I didn’t playtest it.

karen lorraine, I really love the elegant, subdued colors of your house, especially the greens paired with the oranges. The ground floor has such a cosy feel to it, I can just picture it as a real life home. Wonderful idea, of course, placing the kitchen in the larger room.

If it’s not too much trouble, perhaps you could point me in the direction of downloading the living room rug of yours and the grey armchair in the bedroom.

Tricia, thank you for your shower of compliments. I have to say my favorite part about your house is the street view – really nice and realistic fencing and shrubbery. I don’t see very many real life homes with wide open, unfenced property where I live, yet it seems so common in the game. And the customised carpet rug in the living room is a great idea as well. It’s a shame the rest of your home’s pictures are missing.

                    Re: July Challenge

Thank you Tofu. The rug is by roya belle at MTS. I don’t know where the chair is from. Next time I load up I’ll take a look. A lot of my recolours come from other lots that I’ve downloaded in the past.

I really like the blue floral sofa in your house, and the matching curtains, where does that come from?

Edit: found the chair, it’s by Shoukeir at Sims 2 play archive and quite difficult to find so here is the link https://sites.google.com/site/shoukeir/objects27

So far all them look fantastic and I liked the idea of switching dining/kitchen and the living area around. I was considering this when I started mine just the other day but realised the kitchen would have an awkward layout. Great work though from everyone 🙂

I’m working on this one. I’ve just joined and couldn’t resist the challenge to decorate which I love to do. I haven’t finished yet, but hope to soon and will post my results.

Here the album I made of the house I redecorated. I figured that was the way to show if off. Except I can’t take good pictures in game. 😀

                                  Enjoy!
