September 2013 – Maxis Makeover Challenge

Okay Sim Fans,

This challenge is much simpler than the last one, as there’s no building involved. What we are going to do is take a Sims 2 Maxi’s house and re-furbish it. It’s a base game lot, so everyone should have it. It’s ’28 Bard Boulevard’ in the Veronaville neighbourhood.

Okay, you may think, this is easy-peasy, but wait for it…there are some ground rules, some do’s and dont’s:

You cannot:

Change the structure of the house in any way – i.e. you can’t move, delete or add walls
Change the location of doors and windows
Change the roof

You can:

Change the decor
Change doors and windows, as long as they remain in the same position
Change roof pattern
Use arches in place of doors
Add, delete, change furnishings
Use Cheats
Add as much custom content as you want
Use any expansion and/or stuff packs
Add fencing
Add landscaping
Add a garage/car etc.

Required Images:

Floor plan views of each floor
Front and back views from street level
Pictures of each room in the house.

I have already made this house over for a contest at MTS, so not going to do it again as suggested in the ‘rules’ because the one thing that bugged me from that contest was not being able to delete internal doors and walls etc. So, if you don’t mind I will revisit my mts challenge house and adapt that as I suggested in the story that went with it https://modthesims.info/showpost.php?p=4146863&postcount=725

I really loved what you did with this house kaz. Almost anything I’d attempt would be quite bad lol. Mind you I think you changed some doors didn’t you? Or did you just convert doors to doorways? I can’t remember lol

I didn’t move any doors, i changed a door into an archway.

I don’t dislike the ‘rules’, Angela. I just want to take the house to the next stage and adapt it as I suggested I would in the ‘story’.

I love the garden, especially that pavement you used! The whole house is charming. I’m inspired to try now!

karen lorraine! Incredible job! If this were “Love it, or List it” they would “Love it”! The house is transformed and seems a lot more spacious.
