Hi! I hope this is the right place for this thread, if not I apologize:) I recently downloaded some recolour bedding..however its not showing in my game. I downloaded CPE to still no avail 🙁 My first question is..1) When i downloaded the recolour bedding files, i extracted them to my desktop. I then cut and pasted the package files into my Sims 2 Download folder. However they are NOT showing up in game. I have Custom Content on..all that stuff so I know that isnt the problem. I found a tutorial saying I need to click on the bedding of my surrent Sims bed in game, then the option RECOLOUR should show up. It does not. No option to recolour at all. I am going crazy with this lol Please anyone that could post a thread guiding telling me I did something wrong OR what I need to do, would be so very appreciated! Thanks!!

Probably a dumb question but you did right click on the file you pasted in your download folder and choose extract here, right? That’s the only thing I can think of. Lately, I’ve been uploading lots with custom bedding that I made and it doesn’t show up in the uploaded file, so I have the opposite problem from yours!

Hi! Yes I extracted it into my Sims 2 Download folder. I have noticed that when i start my game, the Custom Content window pops up..and all of my Bedding recolours have a yellow triangle with a black exclamation mark on it. Does this mean anything? Also I do NOT have simPE..Do I need it for the recolours to work in game? Thanks so much for replying! Any more help would be greatly appreciated:)

Custom bedding never packages with a lot, in fact most of maxis recolours don’t package.

Thank you guys for taking the time to comment:) triciamanly, ty for that link. I read it and glad to know it’s normal. However, doesn’t tell me what I need to do to get the recolour option to come up in my game. LadyAngel, Yes I dwnld CEP and installed it. I can’t for the life of me figure out what I did wrong or what else I need to do lol! So frustrating. Karen Lorraine, Im sorry but I don’t get what your comment means :O Are you saying the recolour files I installed do not belong in my Sims 2 Download folder? Sorry for being such a noob! Ill continue to search websites/forums this should NOT be that hard lol 🙂

I think Karen Lorraine was replying to my problem of my custom bedspreads not showing up in my lots. But Karen Lorraine, your bedspreads show up in my lots, so any ideas? I thought maybe my bedspreads weren’t showing up because I have so many custom bedspreads, but apparently not.

Well, I downloaded. My computer has a generic download folder where everything goes when I download something. I copied the compressed file and pasted in my Sims 2 download folder. Then extracted. It works fine. Try that process. Don’t extract on your desktop and then copy. Instead, copy the compressed file from your desktop and paste in the downloads folder. Then extract directly into the downloads folder. See if that works!

Thank you so much for trying to help and explain:):) I downloaded the .rar file to my desktop. Then copied the .rar file into my Libraries>Documents>EAGames>TheSims2>Downloads. I then extracted this into this Downloads folder. I went into my game but still nothing:( Blah! idk what I am doing wrong! NOTE: I noticed after I extracted the files into my Downloads folder, all the bedding files text are in yellow Does that mean anything? Do I need a certain type of bed? I tried all the beds available to me in my buy mode screen and Nothing shows up. It doesn’t give me the option to RECOLOR just Relax or SLEEP. One more thing..I did download CEP and installed it..Does CEP have to be placed somewhere specific? I currently have it on my desktop? Maybe I need the simPE? I have WIN7 so maybe that is the problem? I’ve tried for 2 days now..im about to give up! 🙂 Any other help would be so appreciated!! Thanks again for replying!:):)

You have enabled custom content in the game, haven’t you? I haven’t had this problem with bedding myself, and the exclamation mark suggests cc is not enabled. The link below gives detailed instructions on how to do this:

Hi! Yes Custom Content is turned on. All of my other CC shows up like it always has. Bedding is the only one that does not. Im going to delete all those files i downloaded for the male bedding and try a different one. If that doesn’t work idk what else to do. This is more trouble then it’s worth 🙂 Thank you for Replying Everyone! So appreciated!:):) Wish me luck:D

Does it use beddings from another ep maybe? Does that effect beddings??
Are you on a mac?? I know that effects walls dont know about beddings!
Is other cc showing up fine?
Have you clicked on all beds and scrolled through every single colour option that comes up for all beds?

All I can think of!Hello everyone! I finally got it to work 🙂 I didn’t know I had to click on the chip icon in build mode to change the bedding :O;) Im still a noob but I got it figured out. I want to thank Everyone that replied to my psot and helped me.. much appreciated:) Im assuming this thread may be solved or closed 🙂
