Just had a quick flick through this Sims creative magazine and on page 68 I found a picture (attached) of a house which looks strikingly similar to Luxury Contemporary Home (A lot which I created available at MTS, https://modthesims.info/d/451687). Below are two pictures which show the two lots. This house was actually built from a plan which I found on the internet and it had two different versions (one like mine (with the larger room on the upper floor and one with it gone). The similarities I had noticed were the overall shape of the house, the double garage (I didn’t make mine split because I wanted it fully functional), the balcony shape on the main floor and the noticeable feature of the staircase leading to the entry.
If anyone actually can find this lot (which I presume is called ‘A Taste of Money’) let me know because I would like to check out the entire download.
Just to make things clear, I’m not saying that we may have copied one another, I just thought I would point it out and see what others thought of it. 🙂

That is a crazy coincidence I gotta say I like the landscaping on your house and the way you’ve done the stairs but it’s incredibly similar.
I do work for the magazine and it looks like for that article the pics came from The Sims Angels Request Team. I’m a recent addition to the magazine’s team but I can bet there was no intent to try and copy the house in any way.
My personal opinion your house looks better, it would look rather nice next to a beach 😀

In regards to your build I’ve looked at all the pics and I love the way you have an almost fence around the spiral staircase. It makes it look nice and like what people would normally have at home. It’s a really nice build and if I’m… no when I’m in need of a new house for another gen I will certainly take a look in your studio 😀

Thanks Spider for your nice comments! I believe it was a coincidence that we have somehow stumbled across the same floor plan. Although now remembering it, this was a request. I have just searched through my inbox at MTS and found the link to the website. Those are some beautiful buildings and I like to show appreciation for good work TDS and I think that house was really good. I’m such a bad builder I’m always on the lookout for finding a new house and getting the builders permission to use the property. I’ve just started using one called Villa Morimonti (I think that’s right) and it’s just simply incredible, I know I could never build something as wonderful, your house is the same

Where is this Villa Morimonti you speak of? I’m actually a little interested to see it because it sounds really nice. Never give up with building, if you keep at it you can actually build some really cool stuff with sims. I specifically remember being frightened of the CFE tool, now I am doing whatever I can to come up with new ways to use it!karen lorraine

Here is a link to the page where I showed off the build to my readers but also showed the creators original building. The changes were approved by the creator.
I will try building one day, when I have less on the go, I spend so much time working on chapter updates and trying to keep them to every 3-4 days I feel like I don’t have time to create new buildings for these guys but I also like showcasing some of the incredible builds out there. Every little helps after all doesn’t it 😀

I don’t know if this helps but the second house that you say it’s copied it’s from Sims 3 and yours it’s from Sims2.If the house had been from Sims2 you could said that the creator copied your house or make some changes and upload your house.

I know that the second one is from sims 3 and I’m aware you can’t physically copy a design from sims 2 then transfer it into sims 3. Anyway that wasn’t the point of the post. I was merely pointing it out that there was a coincidence in the fact that another creator and I have managed to create the same design without contact or connection.

It is interesting. That’s one of the good things about the challenges here, you get to see the different ways people can build using the same plan. 🙂 Looking at the two houses they do look similar, but yours is far superior. 🙂
