I am quite interested in building with sims 3 as well as sims 2 so that way I can share my creations with more people. If anyone can give me tips for Sims 3 could they send me a message or possibly inform me where I could start a thread. I was concerned with issues such as flat lots, how to package, and other need-to-know type stuff. I’m familiar with sims 2 and I am aware sims 3 is a great difference. I haven’t got it yet but will be getting it shortly. I am not sure what eps and sps I should try to obtain as well. Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks 🙂

TDS, you could start a thread in our game help forums…A few members, myself included, have built a few things with the Sims 3 and would be happy to help. 🙂 (Please read the announcement for those forums first, thanks!)

You should defo have another go Karen, almost threw the towel in then thought there must be a lighting mod somewhere out there and then quite by accident stumbled on the invisible lights so managed to make it work!

Cheeky dont give up on it, heres a tutorial on garages with foundations https://thesims2.ea.com/exchange/story_detail.php?asset_id=53552&hideFramework=&languageCode its a really good one and just follow it step by step and you will be fine! And roofing is one of the hardest things to get a hang of it can take ages to get a good roof, try some of mike insides roofing tips https://mikeinside.modthesims2.com/building/roof/index.html and if you have mansion and garden use the roof adjuster to change the slope on individual peices. And this is quite a good one as well https://www.modthesims.info/wiki.php?title=Tutorials:Building_Great_Realistic_Houses_-_From_the_Ground_Up

Lovely house, tiff, and well done on the roof! I love the kitchen, it’s light and airy and much bigger than one would expect.

Great advice on the lighting mod! What I tend to do with Sims 3 is place lights as soon as I’ve shaped the room. This gives me enough light to see what I’m doing then.

If you havnt grabbed it yet Lady A heres the invisible light https://www.modthesims.info/d/374755, I had placed heaps of the normal lights before I found that, and they looked so stupid! So it was a god send!

I gave a reply in this thread earlier today and it said a mod had to approve it then it would be published, dosnt seemt to be showing!

Sorry about that, tiff. I have a very heavy spam filter installed, and if a post has a few links or if it picks up on certain keywords, it’s sent to the moderation queue. Unfortunately I’m not receiving notifications about them, so thanks for reminding me! 🙂
